Ser y Estar

Sixth graders have been working on understanding the difference between the verbs SER and ESTAR in Spanish. Both verbs mean, "to be" and they can be tricky to use correctly when speaking and writing. Using storytelling to introduce the difference between the two in context made it easier for students. Students also looked at photographs and described what the person was doing, where they were located, what they looked like and where they were from. By describing the photos, students were  learning how to use the proper forms of both verbs. Currently, students are working on a project to demonstrate their mastery of SER and ESTAR. Stay tuned!
