End of September Update

Hello 6th grade community! I just wanted to send a quick update of what we have been working on in class for the last couple weeks and preview the next month.

Last week students presented their prehistory group projects. They were required to research a topic related to our early man unit and teach the rest of the class about what they learned. They had to create visual aides, as well as an educational handout. Some students even chose to make their projects edible, which their classmates appreciated immensely.

We have also launched our 1st grade learning buddies program. The first grade buddies are learning about the continents and oceans, and we helped them create paper maché globes which will be painted and labeled during our next meeting.

Finally, the students are finishing their Every Bone Tells a Story Projects. Some have been hard at work constructing their artifacts, or recreating their chosen hominin's natural environment.

When we return from our trip, we will begin our suspense, mystery, and horror short story unit. The student are all very excited about this, and some have already started brainstorming their stories!
